I love, this scheme is most economical and simple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is used for switch-boards small and medium sized sub-stations, small power stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>(b)Duplicate\nbus-bar arrangement:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Duplicate bus-bar system provides\nadditional flexibility, continuity of supply and permits periodic maintenance\nwithout total shut-down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the event of fault on one bus, the other\ncan be used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0Each generator has only one circuit breaker and between the circuit breaker and the bus-bar there is one isolator. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are 2 buses called main bus and reserve bus. The coupler can be closed, so as to connect the two buses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;While transferring the power to the reserve bus,\nthe following steps may be taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Close circuit breaker. i.e. bus-coupler. The 2 buses are now at the same potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Close isolators on reserve bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open isolators on main bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The power is now transferred to the reserve\nbus and the main bus is disconnected.
