<\/figure>\n\n\n\n Mortar Pan :-<\/strong> Use\nof mortar pan for transportation of concrete is one of the common methods\nadopted in this country. It is labour intensive. Mortar pan method of\nconveyance of concrete can be adopted for concreting at the ground level, below\nor above the ground level without much difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Wheel\nBarrow<\/strong>: Wheelbarrow are normally used for transporting\nconcrete to be placed at ground level. This method is employed for hauling\nconcrete for comparatively longer distance as in the case of concrete road\nconstruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bucket\nand Rope way :-<\/strong> Rope way and bucket of various\nsizes are used for transporting concrete to a place, where simple method of\ntransporting concrete is found not feasible. For the concrete works in a valley\nor the construction work of a pier in the river or for dam construction, this\nmethod of transporting by rope way and bucket is adopted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Truck\nMixer and Dumpers<\/strong> : For large concrete works\nparticularly for concrete to be placed at ground level, trucks and dumpers or\nordinary open steel-body tipping lorries can be used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Belt\nConveyors<\/strong>: Belt conveyors have very limited applications\nin concrete construction. The principal objection is the tendency of the\nconcrete to segregate on steep inclines, at transfer points or change of\ndirection, and at the points where the belt passes over the rollers. Another\ndisadvantage is that the concrete is exposed over long stretches which causes\ndrying and stiffening particularly, in hot, dry and windy weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chute\n<\/strong>:- Chutes are generally provided for transporting\nconcrete from ground level to a lower level. This is not a goxd method of\ntransporting concrete. However, it is adopted, when movement of labour cannot\nbe allowed due to lack of space or for fear of disturbance to reinforcement or\nother arrangements alre incorporated<\/p>\n\n\n\n Skip\nand Hoist :-<\/strong> This is one of the widely adopted meth\nfor transporting concrete vertically up for multi storey building construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
