But, in\nthis form of heating which is suitable for low and medium temperature heating\npurely radiant <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zillionsbuyer.com\/product\/3271\/\">infra-red<\/a><\/strong> heating is\nused.<\/li><li>In radiant heating method of heating, elements consist of\ntungsten filament lamps together with reflectors to direct the whole of the\nheat emitted on to the charge<\/li><li>The lamps are operated at 2,300\u00b0C instead of 3,000\u00b0C giving\ngreater proportion of infrared radiation and a longer life.<\/li><li>The reflectors are plated with rhodium. The lamps employed\nare usually of rating between 250 and 1,000 watts operating at 115 volts.<\/li><li>The operation at low voltage results in a robust filament.\nWith this arrangement charge temperature between 200\u00b0C and 300\u00b0C can be\nobtained.<\/li><li>Heat emission intensities upto 7,000 watts\/ square metre of\nthe chamber surface can be obtained. These are much higher than those obtained\nwith ordinary resistance furnace (1,500 watts\/ m ).<\/li><li>In <strong>radiant heating<\/strong>,\nheat absorption remains practically constant whatever be the charge temperature\nwhereas it falls rapidly as the temperature of charge rises in the ordinary\nresistance furnace.<\/li><li>Paint drying is a common application of this method.
