{"id":524,"date":"2020-06-23T12:18:29","date_gmt":"2020-06-23T12:18:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zillionsbuyer.com\/blog\/?p=524"},"modified":"2021-11-03T06:37:04","modified_gmt":"2021-11-03T06:37:04","slug":"what-is-stainless-steel-welding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zillionsbuyer.com\/blog\/what-is-stainless-steel-welding\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Stainless Steel Welding."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zillionsbuyer.com\/product\/4880\/makita-high-pressure-washer-hw132-steel-armed-rubber-hose\">Stainless\nsteels<\/a><\/strong>\ncan be welded using several different procedures such as shielded metal are\nwelding, gas tungsten arc welding and gas metal arc welding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These steels are slightly\nmore difficult to weld than mild carbon steels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The physical properties of\nstainless steel are different from mild steel and this makes it weld\ndifferently<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These differences are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lower melting temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(1) Lower coefficient of\nthermal conductivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(iii) Higher coefficient\nof thermal expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(iv) Higher electrical\nresistance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The properties are not the\nsame for all stainless steels, but they are the same for those having the same\nmicrostructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding this, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zillionsbuyer.com\/product\/8964\/eibenstock-positron-chop-saw-etr-350-p-dry-wet-cutting-system-hsn-code-84672900\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.zillionsbuyer.com\/product\/8964\/eibenstock-positron-chop-saw-etr-350-p-dry-wet-cutting-system-hsn-code-84672900\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stainless steels<\/a><\/strong> from the same metallurgical class have the similar welding characteristics and are grouped according to the metallurgical structure with respect to welding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When welding stainless\nsteel use a heat sink such as brass or aluminum. This absorbs the heat and also\nprevents any burn through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we get to the end of\nthe weld and pull the heat off it always tends to turn a dark gray. That&#8217;s\nbecause we are carrying all the heat with us and by the time we get to the end\nit&#8217;s at its hottest point<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wait until the weld pool\nsolidifies and then touch the tungsten to the metal and hold it there till our\ngas stops flowing. Will notice that the colour will come back to the weld.\nDepending on how long we touch the tungsten to the end of the weld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We can actually get that nice salmon colour back. We would add hat channels to give the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zillionsbuyer.com\/product\/8964\/eibenstock-positron-chop-saw-etr-350-p-dry-wet-cutting-system-hsn-code-84672900\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.zillionsbuyer.com\/product\/8964\/eibenstock-positron-chop-saw-etr-350-p-dry-wet-cutting-system-hsn-code-84672900\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>stainless steel<\/strong> <\/a>tables more stiffness. Any welding would be done on the channels and not the actual table.
