{"id":539,"date":"2020-06-23T14:57:35","date_gmt":"2020-06-23T14:57:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zillionsbuyer.com\/blog\/?p=539"},"modified":"2020-08-05T07:44:55","modified_gmt":"2020-08-05T07:44:55","slug":"what-is-laser-beam-welding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zillionsbuyer.com\/blog\/what-is-laser-beam-welding\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Laser Beam Welding."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zillionsbuyer.com\/home\/category\/0\/0-0\/0\/0\/%20%20Welding\">Laser\n(Light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation) welding:<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this method, bombardment of an\natom by a proton of adequate energy (while in excited state) stimulates it to\nemit another proton and thus augment the one bombarding it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This gives rise to stimulated\nemission (which synchronous with the inducing radiation in direction, phase and\nwavelength) and amplifies the incident radiation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a matter of milliseconds, a <strong>laser beam<\/strong> is built, amplified (by\nbouncing the light back and forth between the reflecting surfaces on the ends\nof a crystal) till the stored energy is built up to a critical limit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A portion of it bursts through the\npartially reflecting surface, and is focused by a system of optical lenses to a\ntiny spot (less than 0.25 mm in size) on the work piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The energy concentration on this tiny\nspot becomes very high which can be used for welding job. Laser is effectively\nused in the welding of chromium, nickel, aluminum, tungsten, titaniumetc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The salient features of this process are<\/strong> :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(a) Low energy requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;(b) Possibility of both spot and seam welding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(c)Facility for micro miniature\nwelding<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The disadvantages include high cost,\nlimited average power, low efficiency and difficulty in controlling the\ncharacteristics of the laser beam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, <strong>laser welding<\/strong> has already gained a prominent place in the welding\nof micro equipments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Laser (Light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation) welding: In this method, bombardment of an atom by a proton of adequate energy (while in excited state) stimulates it to emit another proton and thus augment the one bombarding it.
