The heat of\nthe body, as seen can be classified as red-hot or white-hot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the body is red-hot, the\nwavelength of radiated energy will be sufficiently large and the energy\navailable is in the form of heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the temperature increases, the\nbody changes from red-hot to white-hot state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wavelength of the energy radiated\nbecomes smaller and enters into the range of the wavelength of light. Actually\nthe hot bodies emit heat as well as<strong>\nlight<\/strong> energy. The velocity of these being equal to 3 x 108 m\/s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The light waves have wavelengths\nvarying from 0.00075 mm to 0.0004 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wavelength of light is usually\nexpressed in Angstrom. 1 Angstrom being equal to 10-10 meter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ratio of the energy emitted by the\nbody in the form of <strong>light<\/strong> to the\ntotal energy emitted by the body is known as &#8220;radiant-efficiency&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;Nature of light: Light is a form of radiant energy.
