Rewirable fuse is also known as kit-Kat fuse. It is used where low value of fault current are to be interrupted. It consists of
(1) base and
(2) A fuse carrier
The base is of porcelain and carries the fixed contacts lo which the incoming and outgoing phase wires are connected.
The face care is also of porcelain and holds the fuse element carrier can be inserted in or taken out from base when desired.
When fault occurs, the fuse element is blown out.
