Brief :

The Sonel MIC-15K1 insulation resistance meter is purposefully designed for assessing the insulation resistance of various components within electrical power systems. This includes items like single and multi-core cables, transformers, motors, generators, capacitors, circuit breakers, and other equipment found in power stations. Its capabilities are especially noteworthy in environments prone to intense electromagnetic interference, such as substations operating at voltage levels as high as 1200 kV AC or 500 kV DC.

The meter distinguishes itself with its measuring voltage of 15 kV, a specification aligned with the guidelines outlined in ANSI/NETA ATS-2009 TABLE 100.1 standards. This characteristic renders the meter suitable for analyzing objects with nominal voltages surpassing 34.5 kV.

What sets the MIC-15K1 apart is its contemporary design and user-friendly functionality. Its ergonomic build and intuitive interface cater to the needs of even the most demanding measurement engineers, even in challenging scenarios marked by substantial disruptions. This makes it particularly effective in situations where other meters would prove ineffective.

Feature

Introducing the Partial Discharge Indicator (PDI), a comprehensive tool for insulation system diagnostics. It employs standard measurements like Insulation Resistance (IR), Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), Polarization Index (PI), Step Voltage (SV), Ramp Test (RT), and Discharge Detection (DD).
The PDI not only facilitates testing an object's electrical endurance but also indicates breakdown voltage, providing insights into insulation robustness. Its exceptional resilience to electromagnetic interference ensures uninterrupted operations within power stations and near high-voltage lines, up to 1200 kV AC and 800 kV DC.
The Ramp Test function allows gradual voltage increase, unveiling partial discharges and aiding in locating their sources. An efficient ~150 W converter enables insulation burnout, useful for pinpointing cable or wire short circuits. This can be achieved through visual methods, reflectometric techniques, seismic-acoustic wave detection, or utilizing an A-frame to indicate fault direction, particularly for buried conductors.
Furthermore, the PDI is compatible with external software, enhancing its versatility and integration capabilities.

Application

MIC-15k1 meter is designed to measure insulation resistance of power objects, i.e.:

single- and multicore cables,

transformers,

motors and generators,

capacitors, switches and other devices installed in power stations.

It is especially recommended for measurements in areas with very high electromagnetic disturbances, e.g. electrical substations with 1200 kV AC and 800 kV DC. Thanks to the 15 kV measuring voltage (in accordance with ANSI / NETA ATS-2009 TABLES 100.1) the meter can be used for measuring objects with a nominal voltage above 34.5 kV. please change above content in other english language
