Sonel's MIC-5005 insulation resistance meter serves as a dependable solution for assessing insulation resistance up to 15 TΩ. It features a maximum measurement current of either 1.2 mA or 3 mA, ensuring swift charging of high-capacity objects within a short timeframe. Each measurement cycle, whether completed through programmed timing or manual intervention, concludes with the meter discharging the tested object.

The device boasts unique algorithms capable of discerning the nature of the voltage present on the object. This capability empowers the instrument to differentiate between mains voltage—leading to the exclusion of a measurement—and voltage stemming from an electromagnetic field—prompting the execution of a measurement. This breakthrough enables measurements in environments rife with potent electromagnetic fields, a task that was hitherto unfeasible.

The MIC-5005 instrument arrives equipped with safety-enhancing accessories, catering to measurements involving all available voltages. The test leads, probes, and crocodile clips meet stringent standards, ensuring their voltage resistance—test leads can endure up to 11 kV, while crocodile clips and test probes withstand up to 5.5 kV. These accessories are thoughtfully packaged in a convenient carrying case, provided as standard. With its impressive immunity to interference, the device supports cable lengths of up to 20 m for measurements.
